The European Students’ Union raises its voice against the discriminatory application processes in the German Association Uni-Assist.

Uni-Assist was founded by German Higher Education Institutes to manage the applications of non-EU students to German Higher Education Institutes. The idea behind this was to make the application process as simple as possible. Instead the costs to run the organization have been redistributed among all non-EU applicants. They are forced to pay an application fee to get their application submitted to the Higher Education Institutes. Since the introduction of Uni-Assist the fees for application are raising constantly. ESU is outraged that the higher education institutes are externalizing their administration costs on non-EU students and urges the higher education institutes to offer a free of cost admission process for all students.
