Webinar: What lessons are we learning from COVID-19?

18 September 2020 (3-4:15 PM CEST)

COVID –19 struck in early 2020 and has disrupted universities across the globe. Universities have endeavoured to serve society through it and maintain services to students and staff as far as possible within the various safety guidelines. The effects have been different in different parts of the world. But what about the rights and responsibilities of students and staff? Have these been affected? Have these effects affected universities’ fundamental values?

The speakers will be Eva Egron-Polak, Members of MCO Governing Council and former Secretary-General of the International Association of Universities and Francesco Ubertini, Rector of the University of Bologna and President of the Magna Charta Observatory.

The event will be moderated by Sijbolt Noorda, President of the Governing Council of the Magna Charta Observatory.

Eva Egron-Polak will address the topic from an international system perspective and Professor Ubertini from the perspective of the Rector of a leading University with first-hand responsibility for thousands of staff and students. There will be an opportunity for questions.

The event is free of charge but it is necessary to book in advance. To book please click on this link.  The closing date for bookings on 15 September.
