Internship programme launched for the SiS Catalyst Project

BRUSSELS – Eight internships will be introduced for students as part of the implementation of the SiS Catalyst Project, which is an initiative taken to foster and support ethical, effective and sustainable engagement between children aged 7-14 years and decision makers that shape the children’s future.

ESU has a leading role in launching and co-ordinating all internship related activities for the project and thus acts as a link between the students and the host organisations.

The first phase of the project has just been closed, where expressions and interests of the potential hosting organisations were collected. The results from the evaluation of that examination will be announced in the first week of February. Students that are interested in participating in the project will be able to apply for an internship in the form of a temporary assignment immediately after the evaluation has been finished where they can choose among the relevant host organisations selected and the relevant fields of activities.

The areas of activities for the SiS Catalyst internships will be the following:

1. Engaging children in SiS activities in a university.

2. A university taking SiS activities to children in a rural context.

3. A university taking SiS activities to children in an urban context.

4. A university taking SiS activities to children through schools.

5. SiS activities for children delivered in a theatre.

6. Museum based delivery of SiS activities for children.

7. Delivering SiS activities for children through Festivals.

8. Delivering SiS activities for children through Media.
It is expected that the first internships will begin in April this year and that they will correspond to the students’ academic programmes.
