UNODC & Academia: Inspire, Change. Together. (to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals)

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) under its Education for Justice (E4J) initiative, aims to strengthen the cooperation with higher education institutions and academia.

UNODC, in close cooperation with the International Association of Universities, invites young researchers and/or lecturers to take part in the competition for sponsored participation in the upcoming IAU  2019 International Conference “Transforming Higher Education for the Future” which will take place from 13 to 15 November 2019 in Puebla, Mexico.

Interested young researcher and/or lecturers are kindly asked to submit a motivation letter in English (maximum one page or 450 words) and a brief academic CV (mentioning the academic institution you are currently affiliated with and not more than 2 pages) to unodc-e4j-grants@un.org by 8 October 2019 11:59 CET.

UNODC will inform the winners no later than 20 October 2019. The winners will be eligible for a prize in the form of a flight ticket (round trip economy-class airfare in accordance with United Nations financial rules and regulations) to participate in upcoming IAU 2019 Conference and a waiver for the registration fee of this conference.

Eligibility: The competition is limited to YOUNG SCHOLARS

Applicants are required:

  • to be a maximum of 35 years of age on or before 1 October 2019. A copy of the passport as proof of age is required.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent students; Post-doctoral researchers; holders of a Ph.D. or of an equivalent final degree who are faculty members at a college/university are eligible. Proof of status is required.
