Since 2016, ‘Together, Moving Forward’ programme is giving a chance and an incentive for refugees and non-refugees students across Europe to take up an active role in supporting the inclusion of young refugees in education and society.

As part of the activities developed, the core area of the programme is the regranting scheme to student-led initiatives (33 projects so far). In addition, the project has offered two Capacity building seminars in Brussels and is working on a Best Practices Handbook to give inspiration and recommendations for future initiatives.

Altiero Spinelli Prize

The Altiero Spinelli Prize is an initiative implemented by the European Commission at the request of the European Parliament, which is funding the prize as a Pilot Project. The 2018 edition of the Spinelli Prize focuses on projects addressed to young people. The Award Ceremony will be held in Brussels on the 29th of April 2019.

“We need to bring the EU closer to young citizens in ways that inspire. I am pleased that the ‘Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach’ rewards quality works that enhance young people’s understanding of the EU and promote their engagement in the democratic processes that shape its future. Giving visibility and European level recognition to such initiatives will help us reach this goal.Tibor Navracsics, the European Commissioner for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport
