Together, Moving Forward shortlisted in the Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach

‘Together, Moving Forward’ programme run by the European Students’ Union (ESU) was one of the 24 shortlisted participants (out of 79) and invited to participate to the Award Ceremony of the Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach, where the five winners were announced.

The winners, announced by Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport, were:

The Associazione di Promozione Sociale DEINA, for ‘Promemoria Auschwitz’.
The association Café Babel International, for the ‘Borderline Project’.
Ms Katy Lee, for the podcast ‘The Europeans’.
The Austrian National Youth Council for ‘Europa, das sind wir (Europe, that´s us)’.
Professor Damjan Lajh from Slovenia, for his work ‘I feel Europe: Nika and Luka get familiar with the European Parliament’.

Since 2016, ‘Together, Moving Forward’ programme is giving a chance and an incentive for refugees and non-refugees students across Europe to take up an active role in supporting the inclusion of young refugees in education and society.

As part of the activities developed, the core area of the programme is the regranting scheme to student-led initiatives (33 projects so far). In addition, the project has offered two Capacity building seminars in Brussels and is working on a Best Practices Handbook to give inspiration and recommendations for future initiatives.

Altiero Spinelli Prize

The Altiero Spinelli Prize is an initiative implemented by the European Commission at the request of the European Parliament, which is funding the prize as a Pilot Project. The 2018 edition of the Spinelli Prize focuses on projects addressed to young people. The Award Ceremony will be held in Brussels on the 29th of April 2019.
