Taalmaat / University of Antwerp & Linguapolis

Country: Belgium

Organisations: University of Antwerp & Linguapolis

Linguapolis organises an intensive preparatory one-year programme called “Dutch as a Foreign Language in an Academic Context” in which between 35-50 students enrol every year; 10 of them are refugee students with a scholarship.

Thanks to the Together, Moving Forward (TMF) grant, the initiative will promote links between Dutch-speaking students and students who are learning the language (both refugee and non-refugee students), encouraging them to take part in social activities while speaking Dutch.

Special actions will be further developed with the TMF support. Formal and non-formal activities will be developed, between Flemish, new-comers students and alumni students of the programmes, such as peer learning activities and group activities focused on integration.
