ESU calls upon the Dutch government not to persist with its experiments to privatise part-time education. The participation levels in part-time education in The Netherlands have been decreasing for the past ten years. Now, experiments are being prepared to have part-time of education removed from public funding. With this move, the responsibility for the equal access to education is removed from the government and student representation within part-time education.  Higher education is a public good and should therefore be a public responsibility. Part-time education should be equally accessible to all students in line with the Life Long Learning programme.
