Participate in a voting survey and win a trip to Brussels!

BRUSSELS – A new project will carry out a Europe-wide survey among former and current Erasmus and non-Erasmus students to measure whether the Erasmus programme affects people’s feelings of Europan citizenship/identity. This project has been called the Erasmus Voting Assessment.

A short survey has been launched to examine the correlation between the participation in the Erasmus programme and a feeling of European identity. By participating in this survey, you earn the possibility to win a trip to Brussels in the autumn 2014. A second survey will be carried out after the European elections and will measure the electoral participation of students.

In the final stages of the project, all the collected data will be analysed and summarised in a final report.

This project has four main objectives. They are to:

1)     Measure the correlation between the ERASMUS programme and the feelings of European identity /citizenship.

2)     Measure the correlation between the ERASMUS programme and participation in the European Parliamentary elections.

3)     Show new valuable aspects of the impact of the ERASMUS programme, reinforcing its value to the Member States, by evaluating its impact on European identity/citizenship and participation.

4)     Disseminate the results in order to advocate for more funds for EU mobility programmes to in the long term extend these mobility programmes to a wider target group.

This project is coordinated by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), the European Students’ Forum (AEGEE) and the Generation Europe Foundation (GEF) and receives financial support from the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union.
