The European Students’ Union represented at ETINED meeting in Strasbourg

From 15 to 16 February 2018, the 2nd plenary meeting of the Council of Europe (CoE) Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education (ETINED) took place in the premises of the CoE in Strasbourg. The European Students’ Union (ESU) was present as an observer to the Steering Committee for Educational Policy and Practice (CDPPE). The plenary meeting aimed to present and discuss some of the project outcomes developed in different European countries through the work of ETINED since the 1st plenary meeting, as well as discuss the draft version of Recommendation on Promoting the development of codes of ethics in the teaching profession.

During the meeting, ESU underlined the need of student-centred quality education for combating fraud and corruption in education, since only in those circumstances students will perceive and learn at the same time what ethical behaviour in education is and how it works.

At the end of the meeting, 2018-2019 ETINED Activities’ Program was presented, where ESU will contribute in activities related to raising awareness among students about corruption, education fraud and ethics.
