ESU and Quality Assurance stakeholders at EQAF 2017

From 23 to 25 November 2017, the 12th edition of European Quality Assurance (EQAF), took place in Riga, Latvia with the attendance of 450 participants: staff members from higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies, students, researchers and policy makers.

The European Students’ Union (ESU) had the opportunity to actively participate and discuss about the role of Quality Assurance (QA) as an actor of change in institutions as well as how QA needs to be in concordance with the emerging changes in society and higher education.

Caroline Sundberg, Vice President from ESU, explained to the audience what Student-Centered Learning is, how students are working to ‘achieve the paradigm shift’ and how ESU is working with them in terms of policies, activities and recommendations.

Furthermore, all the attendants could participate in more than 30 sessions about European policies, national and organisational case studies and have access to information and outcomes from recent research studies through workshops, presentations and paper sessions.

The European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF), celebrated once a year since 2006, has become the most important meeting and a reference point in the field of Quality Assurance (QA) in higher education in Europe.

The forum has been co-organised by EUA, ENQA, ESU and EURASHE and all the documents and presentations of this edition are available on the EQAF’s website.
