Open call: ESU’s Pool of Trainers

We are opening a call for new applicants to the European Students’ Union’s (ESU) Pool Of Trainers. This is the pool of experts who can offer training in particular areas of interest to ESU’s member unions, which is promoted regularly to National Student Unions (NUSs) at ESU events and also via the Reassessment of Membership process.

Applicants for the Pool of Trainers will also be applying to attend a ‘Train The Trainers’ event in Belgium between the 19th and the 23rd of August 2018. This will be fully funded, and equip trainers with skills and knowledge in areas of work connected to the European Youth Foundation (EYF) Work Plan Project: Social Inclusion Through Participation and Democracy – promoting active citizenship in the European student movement. The aim of this training will be to equip trainers to host three separate seminars in the following months, about similar areas related to the field.

Becoming part of the Pool of Trainers is a great opportunity for professional development of student leaders and staff within the student movement. Members of the Pool of Trainers will able to expand their horizons by working directly with student organisations in other countries, engaging with other trainers from across Europe, and bringing this experience back to their home organisation. We encourage all individuals who have training skills in the student movement to consider applying.

We have aimed to recruit individuals to the Trainers Pool that have proven experience of the student movement as a whole, activists who have a number of years’ experience in organising with students. We are also interested in applications from anyone who has experience delivering training in similar organisations at a national or international level.

Being part of the Pool of Trainers.

Successful applicants to the Pool of Trainers will be listed on ESU’s website so members can contact the trainer to request trainings from them. The Pool of Trainers will also be promoted directly to ESU’s member unions while they are undergoing Reassessment of Membership, and a trainer may be matched with unions which would benefit from particular trainings. Trainers may also be contacted periodically by ESU to support ESU events or provide expertise on a particular topic.

In all cases, the costs associated with delivering training (including travel and reasonable expenses) will be covered by the union requesting training.

How to Apply.

Please send an email to hacks@esu-online.org marked “Application for Pool of Trainers”, and include the following:
1. A CV showing your experience with the student movement and/or training for similar organisations. Please also detail which languages you are able to deliver trainings in.
2. A letter of motivation outlining your interest in the Pool of Trainers and the ‘Train The Trainers’ event. Please also note here your particular areas of expertise as a trainer.

Deadline for Applications: Sunday 5th August, 23:59 CEST.
