ESPRIT meeting: Israeli Higher Education achieves new goals

ESPRIT’s final conference took place at the  Interdisciplinary Center in  Herzliya, Israel between  19-20 September 2016. This three-year project funded by the TEMPUS programme addressed university management and services for students, as well as equal and transparent access to higher education.

During the conference, participants discussed project insights around Academic Social Responsibility (ASR). Presentations included good examples of alliances between students and higher education institutions and integration of academic social responsibility (ASR) within courses. The project resulted also in mapping of ASR in Israeli higher education institutions.

Our President Lea Meister chaired the panel “Academic Social Responsibility in the World and the Social Dimension of Bologna”. Speakers included experts from  the University of Brighton (UK), University of Masaryk (CZ) and University of Santiago de Compostela (ES). In addition to the panel discussion focused on promoting the ASR Agenda, Lea Meister spoke about the role of students and the work of ESU in this field. The topic has been further elaborated by Liva Vikmane, Vice-President of ESU, during the open moderated discussion.

All project results and plans for the future will be disseminated at a closing event hosted by ESU on 21st November in Brussels.
