An open call for contributions for the 9th European Quality Assurance Forum
BARCELONA – The 9th edition of the European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF) will take place at the University of Barcelona, Spain, from 13 to 15 November 2014. The organisers have now opened a call for contributions from quality assurance practitioners in higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies, students, academic staff, institutional leaders and researchers in the field.
EQAF is an annual event that brings together hundreds of stakeholders in the quality assurance of higher education. This time the event will be entitled “Changing education – QA and the shift from teaching to learning”. Through a mix of plenary and parallel sessions, this year’s event will combine practice-oriented or research-based discussions that will take place in the paper sessions and workshops with presentations of current developments in quality assurance. This time the Forum will explore whether and how current QA approaches are keeping up with and supporting developments in learning and teaching.
The event’s organisers (The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the European Students’ Union, the European University Association and the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education) are now requesting contributions to papers and workshops to be submitted before 25 July 2014. Students’ contributions to the event
A specific quota for papers requires a minimum of papers or workshops to be submitted from students or students’ unions. Registration fees for the event will also be much lower for students than other participants. Moreover, the European Students’ Union will give fee-waivers to a few students that do present proposals for the event that get selected.
Dan Derricott, a former member of the Student Experts’ Pool on Quality Assurance Pool of the European Students’ Union, recently took over as chair of the Steering Committee of EQAF for 2014 and 2015. This is the first time that the European Students’ Union chairs the event.
