Spanish and European students express our deepest condolences

Spanish and European students express our deepest condolences for the victims of the traffic accident in Spain

Today the Spanish and European university students are deeply saddened due to the loss of many colleagues who have died in a traffic accident this morning in Tarragona, Spain. The Spanish National Union of Students (CREUP) and the European Students’ Union (ESU) express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Together we would like to send our full support of the Spanish and European students’ communities in these sad moments.

CREUP is in continuous contact with the Ministry of Education since early this morning, as well as with the Erasmus Student Network Spain. Luis Cereijo, president of CREUP, has sent to both institutions condolences on behalf of the Spanish university students and offer CREUP’s collaboration in these difficult times. The chairperson of ESU, Fernando Galán, is also in contact with the president of the CREUP, and has sent his support and of the whole European students’ movement.

In these sorrowful moments, we mourn the loss of these colleagues and wish for the speedy recovery of the wounded. All the victims, families and friends are in our hearts and minds. We also would like to communicate our sincere sympathy to the colleagues of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), and join them to request the public for discretion in respect for the families and friends.
