ESU @Politico event: Youth and Social Media

ESU is more and more present in Brussels, making the voice of students heard among policy-makers and media and challenging the myth that organised civil society cannot drive change.

On 26th January, our Chairperson, Fernando Galan participated in a conference organised by Politico discussing how social media can empower young people in their professional and academic lives.  Among key speakers were Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and Alexander de Croo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Development Cooperation, Digital Agenda, Post and Telecom, Federal Government of Belgium.

“Social media can also help society and create active citizens, it’s not just about young workers. In the student movement, social media is used as a tool for supporting stronger student cooperation” says Fernando Galan, ESU Chairperson.
