Students by day, rebels by night? – Criminalising student dissent in shrinking democracies

SAIH and NSO released the study “Students by day, rebels by night” written by Chris Millora and Renee Karanungan.

The title refers to a quotation from Filipino student activists who describe how the country’s authorities want to paint the students as rivals in order to strip the activists of credibility.

This publication seeks to demonstrate the efforts of student activists while also emphasizing the need for more reporting, acknowledgement, and intervention. The aim of this report was to highlight the efforts of student activists and raise awareness of their plight.
