OPEN CALL for Climate Action Expert!

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Sustainable Development Expert to lead theoretical and practical sessions as part of an educational initiative focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11, 13, and 17 in Almeria (Spain) from 19/02/24 to 21/02/24. 

As a key contributor to our program, the expert will play a pivotal role in educating participants, building awareness, and equipping them with practical tools to implement local actions promoting sustainable communities and cities.

Responsibilities:

  • Theoretical Sessions:
    • Design and deliver engaging lectures on SDG 11 “Sustainable Communities and Cities,” SDG 13 “Climate Action,” and SDG 17 “Partnership for the Goals.”
    • Develop content that lays the foundation for upcoming activities, emphasising awareness and action at the local level.
    • Address the importance of emotional and community support in students’ learning, creating a holistic learning experience.
  • Practical Sessions:
    • Impart practical and effective tools and skills to participants for the implementation of local actions.
    • Guide participants through the entire project cycle with a focus on sustainability campaigns at the local level.
    • Cover key aspects such as needs assessment, project proposal writing, contacting local stakeholders, budgeting, and successful implementation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Sustainable Development, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise and practical experience in Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on SDG 11, 13, and 17.
  • Proven experience in delivering engaging and informative lectures, preferably in an international context.
  • Familiarity with project management needs assessment and sustainable campaign strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the intersectionality between sustainability and student engagement.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to guide and support participants in both theoretical and practical aspects.
  • Passion for sustainable development and a commitment to fostering positive change at the local level.
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds and learning styles.

Practical Details: Financial Support: Compensation + 100% coverage for the program, international travel, accommodation, food, and local transportation.
