Gohar Hovhannisyan, Executive Committee Member from ESU, was part of the European Quality Forum Advisory Group at the event “Do national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) make a difference: Measuring and evaluating NQF impact.” The event took place in Thessaloniki from 9 to 10 November
CEDEFOP (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) led this event in collaboration with the European Commission and the Quality and Qualifications Ireland-QQI,
Policy-makers, researchers and stakeholders discussed ways to measure the impact of NQFs and the need for more research in the area.
There is an important increase of NQFs all over the world, which can be seen as an improvement in policy learning processes, but also the consequence of policy coping.
Attendants agreed that NQFs can be a cornerstone in lifelong learning and the recognition of non-formal and informal education but there is still a lot to develop and assess.
