ESU at the National Correspondents for Qualifications Frameworks (QF-EHEA) meeting

On 4 September 2018, the European Students’ Union was represented by Gohar Hovhannisyan -Executive Committee member of ESU- at the National Correspondents for Qualifications Frameworks (QF-EHEA) meeting at the Council of Europe (CoE) in Strasbourg.

The Commission and the European Training Foundation contributed to the meeting, where 37 countries and several stakeholder organisations were also present.

Recent developments in the Bologna Qualifications Framework were discussed from the national level perspective. A reflection on the Paris Communique and its reference to the inclusion of ECTS-based short cycle qualifications in the Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA) was also a key topic of the meeting.

In addition, participants at the meeting introduced possible ways of including Competences for Democratic Culture in the National Qualification Frameworks (NQFs) and the need of mapping initiatives for a more comprehensive picture about short cycle qualifications around the EHEA.
