International Migrants Day

Migration is a human phenomenon: human beings have always been moving around the planet for many different reasons and will always be doing so. Many of them are mainly looking to fulfil their human rights, including the right to education.

The European Students’ Union (ESU) supports the right of all people to freely and safely pursue higher education. We believe that EU member states must acknowledge the importance of inclusive education and provide more support to migrant and refugee-students in Europe. We also believe that the European Union must provide more legal pathways for students at risk from all over the world, to be able to continue their studies in a safe environment.

ESU continues to fight for equal access to education and strongly believes in the role and power of higher education in changing people’s realities for the better.
