ESU’s Activity Report for 2012 has been published

BRUSSELS – The European Students’ Union (ESU) published this month its annual activity report, going through all the main achievements, events and developments in higher education policy across Europe in 2012. This includes all the research or partnership projects that the organisation is engaged in.

The publication is over thirty pages and can be downloaded for free on ESU’s website. Printed copies of the publication will also be available soon.

Why should you be interested?

The Activity Report is a great way for people to get a brief overview of all of ESU’s activities and its structure, but the organisation represents 47 national unions of students (NUS) from 39 countries in Europe. The aim of ESU is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at the European level towards all relevant bodies and in particular the European Union, Bologna Follow Up Group, Council of Europe and UNESCO. Through its members, ESU represented over 11 million students in Europe in 2012.

ESU celebrated its thirtieth year in operation in 2012 and went through extensive structural reforms to its management. A part of the publication is dedicated to the history of the organisation, its cooperation with its alumni society and its new structure as the voice of students in Europe.

ESU is deeply engaged in policy discussions on higher education in Europe and therefore a special chapter covers the main developments in that area from students’ point of view, including ESU’s contribution through projects such as Financing of the Students’ Future (FINST), Student Advancement of Graduate Employability (SAGE) and Quest for Quality for Students’ (QUEST).

It is ESU’s hope that you will find this publication to be useful and interesting and that it will give you a good insight into ESU’s activities on a day to day basis.
