ESU publishes activity report for 2009

It was a very hectic but successful year, says Bert Vandenkendelaere, who was a member of the Executive Committee last year. He took over as Chairperson of ESU in the academic year of 2010-2011, after Ligia Deca’s two terms as Chairperson from 2008 to 2010.

We finalised the Equity project and laid the foundation for this year’s big project on student-centred learning, which will run until October. We had several political achievements in 2009, such as the adoption of the European target of 20 per cent mobile students by 2020 and the bringing together of students from across the world at UNESCO’s World Conference on Higher Education (see some of the results in the conference communiqe), says Vandenkendelaere.

ESU is currently following up this work, in addition to starting two new projects, on financing of higher education and on education quality.
