Erasmus Salon #8 – EU elections edition “Erasmus+ and the future of Europe: A close relationship?”

ESU is partnering with Erasmus Salon in the celebration of the “Erasmus Salon #8 EU elections edition “Erasmus+ and the future of Europe: A close relationship?” on 7 October in Brussels.

With more than four million Europeans having benefitted from some kind of mobility under the Erasmus+ programme over the last three decades, the benefits of spending time abroad for studying or training are well documented: mobile students come back with not only new competences and improved social and language skills, but also with a heightened awareness of common values, a higher tolerance of other cultures, and increased chances of being employed after finishing their studies.

But how is this reflected in a European society where radical movements have sprouted in recent years in both old and new Member States? Why has the largest education and culture programme of the EU not been enough to stop Brexit? What role did young Europeans play in the May elections? In which direction did their vote swing? And more importantly, will they own the challenges and opportunities that loom ahead?

Join the debate to explore the answers to these questions at the Erasmus Salon on October 7th 2019 at Brasserie Tennessee!
