Calling for an end to education chaos in Malta

ESU is lending its voice to Maltese NUS, KSU’s call for an end to the chaos currently gripping the Maltese higher education system due to a long-running dispute between teacher unions and the Maltese Government.

The dispute, which centers on the employment terms and conditions for teachers and lecturers and the financial package associated with this, has led to a series of strikes which have had serious knock-on consequences for university students across the country.  While ESU respects the need for the unions and the Government to resolve their dispute through constructive dialogue, we believe that students’ learning and education should not be made to suffer as a result.
