During the Delegates’ Congress on the 5th of November 2016, the student of Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) – Tomasz Tokarski – has been elected as President of the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland (PSRP) for the 2017-2018 mandate. Additionally, Tomasz is the Chairman of the self-government of KUL and also the Chairman of the Polish Universities’ Union. He has extensive experience in team management and is able to effectively administer the organisation’s work.

After the election, Tomasz said that he is ready to work hard and help make the voice of Polish students heard. He is aware of the challenges that await PSRP, especially at this point when the Polish Government is preparing a reform in higher education. Tomasz wants to focus on development in many areas of PSRP, especially on entrepreneurship, student mobility and supporting students with disabilities.

During this term, PSRP will have three new representatives: Krystian Cieślak, student of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, will be responsible for international cooperation; Adrianna Czarnecka, student of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, will be responsible for students’ mobility, and Kiryl Salata, student of WSB Universities in Toruń, is responsible for topics connected  to the internationalisation of higher education. Some of them participated in  the 71st Board Meeting in Gdansk and Jastrzebia Góra organized by PSRP.

For the coming period, PSRP affirms that the cooperation with the European Students’ Union is a very important aspect in reaching the objectives set by the new representatives.
