Union of Students in Ireland (USI) / Fighting Hate Speech and Promoting Inclusive Campuses
by Union of Students in Ireland (USI)
The project seeks to address barriers to refugee inclusion in higher education. The Union will run three parallel and symbiotic projects under “Student Refugee Solidarity Programme”, which includes regional training events for student activists to reshape campus discourse and refugees and confront hate speech in Irish colleges. A national campaign will explain hate speech and how to combat it, encouraging students to positively assert the values of integration. All the while, USI will run a research to identify recommendations to the Higher Education sector on refugee inclusion from the perspective of admission, transition, participation, student supports and Recognition of Prior Learning.
