European Students for Democracy

Youth in general and students in particular have always been at the forefront of social change, aiming for a better society than the ones we are living in now.

Students in the past have fought for the freedoms and rights which we are now enjoying every day. Whether we are speaking about the student movements in the sixties or the current activities all around the Europe, students have been and still are changing our realities. But all around Europe, students are faced with problems in taking responsibility and becoming a part of an active and diverse student movement. Student unions are facing problems finding members, electoral turn out rates inside universities are declining and students are feeling pressure to finish their studies as soon as possible, without getting the chance to become active citizens. On the other hand some long lasting external factors still exist as influence of real political interests on the independent student

movement for example.
