Exchange opportunity: 10 days in London on financing of Higher Education

BRUSSELS – Would you like to experience ten days in London at one of the largest students’ unions in the world? You are invited to apply before 24 June to take part in the first of three student representatives exchange programmes. The exchange is part of ESU’s project on Financing the Students’ Future (FinSt), funded by the European Commission Lifelong Learning Programme.

The project is funding three student exchanges, open to officers and staff in national unions across Europe and hosted by the partner national unions in the FinST project: NUS UK, EÜL (Estonia) and ÖH (Austria). The first of the exchange is taking place in London in September, and is hosted by NUS-UK, the representative body for seven million students in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The aim of the exchanges is to build the capacity of national students’ unions across Europe to be able to influence their higher education financing systems. Each delegate will be provided with an opportunity to stay in the host country for ten days. They will experience a different student participation environment and be able to take part in activities contributing to the overall aims and objectives of the FinSt project, and are intended to improve participants’ knowledge about the higher education system in the host country. In order to participate applicants must be nominated by their National Union of Students (NUS) that is a member of ESU.
Attached to this article is the call for participants for the NUS-UK exchanges to be filled and the project description for more information. The dates for the exchanges are:

* 18-27 September 2011 (3 delegates)
* 22 September – 01 October 2011 (3 delegates)

The deadline for applications is 24th June 2011.

If you’re still interested but unable to apply for this exchange, don’t worry! Just keep your eyes peeled, check back regularly or ask your national union (NUS) regarding  the exchanges taking place in Estonia and Austria later in the year.
