Description
Luka is a student representative from Croatia, working on fundamental values, student rights and the social dimension of higher education within the European Students’ Union. His portfolio focuses on academic freedom, academic integrity, democratic participation, student activism, equality and non-discrimination, student poverty and sustainability.
Luka’s current responsibilities include ESU’s Student Protest Monitoring work, breaches of academic freedom and advocacy concerning racism and structural discrimination in higher education. He contributes to the development of the Bologna with Students’ Eyes flagship publication, the European Student Rights Charter and ESU’s work on democratic student representation within European University Alliances and the European Degree Label.
Alongside his representative work, Luka is pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Geography, specialising in geographic information systems, at the University of Zadar. Before joining ESU’s elected team, he served as President of the University of Zadar Student Council, represented students within the Croatian Student Council and held the role of ESU’s Equality and Human RIghts & Solidarity Coordinator.
