The 88th Board Meeting (BM88) of the European Students’ Union, co-hosted with the National Union of Students in Norway (NSO) will take place from 17th – 23th of November 2024 in Oslo, Norway.

Location
The event will take place in Oslo, Norway. The participants will be accommodated in a hotel in the city. Transportation between the hotel and the event locations is taken care of by the organisers.
BM88 theme
The theme of BM88 is “Democracy”. Democracy is under pressure in an increasing number of countries, and the number of authoritarian regimes is growing. Organizations, academics, and students experience persecution, threats, and expulsion from their educational institutions due to their research, activism, and fight for human rights and democracy.
How do we maintain democratic values in a world filled with conflict? How can we stand up to anti-democratic attitudes? And what is the role of academia and students in all this? Through democracy workshops, panel discussions and lectures, student delegates from all over Europe will come together to dig into these questions, with the aim of standing even stronger in the work for academic freedom of expression, democracy and political change.
