A new obstacle has been faced by the Ukrainian students in the Higher Educational Institutions. A case of the sexual harassment in HEI took place. Rector of the HEI was arrested, and now the information on the similar problems is coming from the students of other Universities. Regarding this issue there was a decision made to create a monitoring group that will examine the situation within Ukrainian HEIs, however at the moment there is no students representatives in it.

Ukrainian students are deeply concerned with this issue consequently; we put all our effort in fighting this problem. There was a protest action done on this issue in Ukraine already, which was aimed to turn more attention to this situation, as they believe there is no way this should stay quite.

Therefore, ESU strongly supports Ukrainian students in their fight on this difficult issue, and demands the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to draw more attention to this problem, and clarify the situation within the other Ukrainian Universities on this issue. Furthermore, ESU strongly recommends to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to bring students into the monitoring process to make it more open, and effective.
