The 67th Board Meeting of the European Students’ Union (ESU) will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 1 to 5 December 2014.

Board Meetings of ESU are organised twice a year, where delegates from all the 47 national unions of students that are members of the organisation are invited. The Board Meetings act thus as the highest governing body of ESU, in which delegates get the opportunity to shape ESU’s policies and plan of work. Delegates are also introduced to national cases and developments in higher education in Europe. Each country is given the value of two votes at these meetings.

The Board Meeting will be preceded by a seminar for student representatives on human rights, following an internal motion passed at the 64th Board Meeting of the European Students’ Union. Therefore, this opportunity will be used to discuss several issues regarding academic freedom while still shedding some light on the situation in the region. All participants will be able to benefit from the discussions and use it in their own national/regional context.
